Leaving no room for time wasters, 'What If I Told You To' elicits total scuzzy submission at the hands of London-based techno-protagonists Wax Wings and Miha's unflinchingly dominant composition. A throbbing procession of monolithic drums, suspenseful undercurrents, and imperative vocals, the lead single from the duo's debut EP 'The Confession' is a proposition of filth, pushing the listener to their carnal limits with no intention of a safeword.
An ode to unrestrained, queer, sexual abandon, Miha & Wax's blend of hard techno and distorted electronics, served on a latex bed of sex-appeal, soundtracks the dancefloor and the darkroom alike. The track's production showcases Wax Wing's flare of sleekly curated chaos against a salacious siren's call delivered by Miha and Australian DJ & producer Lucille Croft, outlining an illicit carte du jour of uninhibited perversions of sadomasochistic proportions.
With Filmmaker William Kennedy at the directorial helm, the accompanying music video presents a series of arresting sequences forging the pair's frenetic visual orgy of flexed biceps and steely studded mohawks. Layered by contrasting textured shots and dynamic setups, the abundance of sweaty bare flesh, lubed-up latex, and oozing glory holes allows the viewer to revel in Wax Wings & Miha's arena of degradation through the sonic terrain that they create.
William Kennedy: "I will treasure the memories of making it for years to come. from running around B&Q like kids in a candy store, picking out chains and locks, hammers and axes (we're definitely on a serial killer watchlist by now lol) to whipping up a batch of fisting lube on set dressed in full black latex gear like some hellraiser / bake off crossover episode. It was a riot and reminded me why I fell in love with making music videos."
