Utah Yeti? Not Yeti | Defector
Briefly

The Arizona Coyotes' attempt to establish a new identity in Salt Lake City has been marred by trademark issues, notably with Yeti, the camping equipment company, blocking the use of the 'Yeti' name. The team has limped through the season with a disappointing record and no official nickname, leading to frustration among fans and criticism of corporate interests impacting team branding. Suggestions include negotiating with Yeti or adopting a humorous placeholder name to highlight the ongoing struggles and indifference surrounding the team's rebranding efforts.
After all that, we find out that they can't use the obvious choice 'Yeti' because those corporate swine with the camping equipment...are claiming copyright infringement?
This is bigger than coolers. We have held to this notion since the team busted in Glendale and was spirited across state lines to mitigate against further humiliation in Arizona.
