Gardners Candies is recalling Cappuccino Meltaway Bars after discovering that some products were distributed with packaging that did not reveal the presence of tree nuts.
Gardners stated, 'People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to tree nuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,' emphasizing the potential dangers.
The company reported a breakdown in its production and packaging processes, which led to the undeclared nut issue, and has since suspended production until resolved.
Gardners urges consumers who bought the affected products to call their corporate office for a replacement product, enhancing consumer safety measures.
