Cyber Monday was officially the biggest online shopping day ever, according to fresh data from Adobe and Salesforce. US shoppers spent $13.3 billion according to Adobe, marking a low single-digit increase from last year's sales.
Caila Schwartz, Salesforce Director of Consumer Insights, remarked, 'It is a top discounting day. It was one of the better days for online discounting compared to the rest of the week.' This indicates a keen interest in bargains.
Shoppers turned to big discounts, particularly in electronics with 30% off and apparel with 39% off, motivated by inflation yet still willing to splurge on luxury goods during this holiday event.
Salesforce reported that mobile devices now account for more than three-quarters of website visits on Cyber Monday, with mobile sales representing over half of the total spending, highlighting a significant shift to mobile shopping.
