Nina collaborated with Rachel on a Victorian-inspired bedroom makeover that transformed the space using bold color and vintage elements. The room featured original architectural details but lacked warmth. Nina chose a deep blue paint to create a maximalist effect, emphasizing the importance of treating the sash window. The project also included strategic updates to window treatments for better light control and sleep quality. Furnishing the room with antique pieces added warmth and character, showcasing Nina's design philosophy of combining dramatic colors with vintage eclecticism.
This room wouldn't have had the same impact, wouldn't have been elevated, if the sash window had remained white!" Nina says.
Removing the blinds that let in so much light, and installing antique curtains transformed the room," she says.
After the painting, Nina helped source statement pieces to pop against this backdrop, to bring warmth, pattern, and a soft sumptuousness to the room," she says.
The biggest difference-maker in the room was the head-to-toe blue paint (Farrow & Ball's Hague Blue) - and Nina said it almost didn't happen.
