The world has only deployed 10% of the climate technologies it needs to achieve net zero, new research by McKinsey shows
Briefly

The energy transition, though gaining momentum, is only at 10% capacity for low-emission technologies needed by 2050 to meet global climate commitments.
Currently, two-thirds of energy is wasted in our complex energy system, which includes over a billion vehicles and vast power plant infrastructures.
We've identified 25 physical challenges crucial for deploying low-emissions technologies, with 13 showing progress but 12 remaining particularly demanding to address.
Without tackling the most difficult challenges, 40-60% of CO2 emissions from the energy system will persist, underscoring the need for a comprehensive blueprint.
