Mercedes-Benz has delivered the first all-electric popemobile to the Vatican, a modified G-Class SUV featuring four electric motors for precise low-speed control.
The popemobile includes a unique height-adjustable swiveling seat, allowing the pope to engage with his audience more effectively during his travels.
Mercedes-Benz has a long-standing relationship with the Vatican, having built around one-third of all popemobiles to date, marking nearly a century of collaboration.
While other companies expressed interest in electrifying the pope's vehicle, including defunct EV startup Fisker, Mercedes-Benz has been the successful partner for this project.
