The history of Caribbean slavery is being lost. Britain must act now to preserve it | Laura Trevelyan and Nicole Phillip

Barbados has begun the process of digitising its invaluable archive, but so much more needs to be done across the Caribbean and quickly, before accidents or natural disasters consume these ageing papers.
The history of an entire people is slowly being erased, with records of the children who died at birth, their mothers in childbirth, and their fathers, worked into the ground by Britain's enslavers.
