The FTC is officially banning hidden junk fees from hotel and ticket prices
Briefly

"People deserve to know up-front what they're being asked to pay - without worrying that they'll later be saddled with mysterious fees that they haven't budgeted for and can't avoid," FTC Chair Lina Khan said in the press release.
"The FTC's rule will put an end to junk fees around live event tickets, hotels, and vacation rentals, saving Americans billions of dollars and millions of hours in wasted time."
The rule does not ban companies from charging resort, convenience, and service fees but mandates transparency in pricing before checkout.
Under the new rule, fees must be displayed more prominently than most other pricing information, ensuring that consumers are better informed.
