Teen piano virtuoso hitting the right notes
Briefly

Harrison Yu, an 18-year-old senior at Cypress Woods High School, blends his love for music with a desire to become a surgeon, inspired by his father's battle with cancer. His journey began in Taiwan, cultivating his piano skills through rigorous practice. While his father was hospitalized, he played music for patients, realizing its emotional healing power. After his father's passing, Harrison committed to pursuing higher education in both music and medicine, believing that he can soothe souls with melodies while physically healing others as a surgeon.
"I used that piano to play for other patients, and it really touched my heart, the way I can inspire people with the sound of music."
"It really actually inspired me, for my goal to become a surgeon in the medical field. I realized that music, however, could touch the soul and could soothe emotions."
