Taoiseach confirms hotel rooms will be provided for most vulnerable hit by Storm Eowyn
Briefly

Ireland is facing unprecedented challenges following Storm Éowyn, which has left over 70,000 residents without power, including 30,000 rural homes which may remain powerless until February 5. With extensive damage to the grid, repair crews, both local and international, are working tirelessly to restore electricity. Taoiseach Mr. Martin acknowledged the situation's urgency and called for significant investments to strengthen electrical and water networks against future severe storms, which are exacerbated by climate change.
Over 2,800 personnel including expert electrical repair crews from overseas are now working from dawn to dusk to repair storm damage.
Mr Martin warned that Ireland will now have to invest millions of Euros to storm-proof the Irish electricity and water networks amid the severity of such Atlantic storms increasing with climate change.
