Swiss International Air Lines has confirmed the tragic death of a crew member following an emergency landing due to engine problems and smoke in the cabin. The incident left the aviation community and the airline deeply saddened.
'We are all deeply shocked by the death of our beloved colleague. The news leaves us deeply saddened and stunned. Our thoughts are with the young man's relatives,' said Jens Fehlinger, CEO of Swiss.
The aircraft, an Airbus A220-300, made an emergency landing in Graz after experiencing engine issues, and 12 out of the 74 passengers required medical assistance.
Preliminary investigations by Swiss indicated a technical problem in one of the engines, alongside scrutiny of the protective equipment utilized by the cabin crew during the incident.
