On the 5th of October in the spirit of Diwali, people gathered at the Riverside Church in Wallington, celebrating with diverse food and stalls.
The event was a true reflection of the community's diversity, with people of all ages coming together to celebrate Diwali and experience Indian culture.
My mum described the success of their food stall, stating it was inspiring to see how much everyone enjoyed the food and the spirit of the event.
It felt special for those of us who celebrate Diwali annually to see others joining in, as it introduced many to rich customs and delicious food.
