Storm chaos lingers as new rain warning issued for London this weekend
Briefly

A severe weather warning has been issued effective January 26-27, predicting significant rain and potential local flooding in the UK. Residents may face power cuts and travel disruptions, with transport systems expected to experience delays. The warning follows Storm Eowyn, described by the Met Office as the strongest storm in 10 years, causing extensive damage and loss of life. Wind speeds reached 114mph in Ireland, and disruptions included nearly 400 incidents reported by Network Rail Scotland. The public is urged to stay alert and plan accordingly amid the forecasted adverse weather conditions.
The warning will be in place from 8am on Sunday (January 26) until 6am on Monday (January 27), with forecasters predicting spells of rain that could lead to localised flooding.
Forecasters said it was the most intense storm in 20 to 30 years for some parts of the country, with winds reaching 114mph in Mace Head, Co Galway.
