Mama Kin, which offered Cajun appetizers and craft cocktails, is closing after two years, marking a loss for the vibrant San Jose arts scene.
As the owner, Andrew Saman said, 'Hopefully there's a brave soul willing to continue the fight to keep the Arts alive in this iconic building... the world needs you now more than ever.'
Alex Stettinski, CEO of the San Jose Downtown Association, expressed mixed feelings: 'Mama Kin closing is sad... but businesses closing is a dynamic factor of any market.'
The restaurant represented a wave of revitalization for downtown San Jose post-COVID, with efforts ongoing to support businesses and enhance foot traffic in the area.
