Mikaela Shiffrin suffered a puncture wound and severe muscle trauma after crashing during a giant slalom race in Killington, Vermont, while chasing her 100th win.
After her crash, U.S. Ski & Snowboard confirmed she had no ligament damage and her bones and internal organs were okay, but did sustain severe muscle trauma.
Shiffrin reported severe discomfort stating, 'I just can't move', revealing that she was experiencing an abrasion and had been stabbed by something.
Despite her injury, Shiffrin has dominated the Killington slalom, winning six out of the seven events held there.
