Victor Aenlle's unexpected visit to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office has left employees feeling intimidated, especially those who cooperated in an investigation against him and Sheriff Christina Corpus. Aenlle's presence, reportedly armed, raised significant concerns, particularly among female staff. The ongoing tension is compounded by a charter amendment proposed by the Board of Supervisors aimed at potentially removing Sheriff Corpus from office, following findings of misconduct in an independent investigation led by Judge LaDoris Cordell.
Many of our female staff felt intimidated by Victor's presence and requested to leave the office early.
The Board of Supervisors has put a charter amendment on the March 4 ballot that would give them the power to remove Corpus from office.
