On Tuesday afternoon, two masked individuals approached a mail carrier in Billerica, brandishing a firearm, and subsequently robbed him, raising community alarm.
The mail robbery incident led police to place nearby Parker Elementary School in a "soft lockdown" to ensure student safety during the investigation.
Authorities confirmed no injuries occurred during the robbery, but the suspects, who fled in a vehicle, remain unidentified as the investigation progresses.
