San Mateo, Burlingame police shoot, injure man brandishing a gun

Officers from the San Mateo Police Department responded to a report at 2:53 a.m. on Nov. 30 of possible gunshots near the 800 block of North San Mateo Drive to see a man who pointed a firearm at police and ran.
After calling for backup, officers pursued the suspect until a Burlingame police officer located him at Jefferson Court and Peninsula Avenue, but were unable to de-escalate the situation.
Authorities did not release the suspect's name, but after being shot, he was provided medical aid and taken to a local hospital.
The San Mateo Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them, as the three separate independent investigations begin.
