The project creatively explores how to construct a large 1000m2 structure in a fragmented mountain urban context, integrating traditional farmhouse morphology while promoting sustainability.
The design consists of four discreet volumes that echo traditional farmhouses, using diverse ridge orientations and green roofs to enhance connection with the mountain landscape.
The building’s use of a wood/concrete hybrid structure allows for a unique aesthetic, as the sandblasted concrete mirrors the local stone, blending the modern with the indigenous.
Sustainability informs the project through the choice of materials, like low carbon concrete and Alpine wood, ensuring the school resonates with its mountainous environment.
