Roblox is implementing new safety measures for players under 13, including game age suitability checks and restrictions on social hangouts to protect young users from harmful content.
From 3 December, game creators must declare their games' suitability for users under 13; those that don't comply will be restricted from being played by this age group.
Under-13s will be prohibited from accessing 'social hangouts' and certain user-generated content features from 18 November to safeguard against exposure to inappropriate interactions.
Roblox acknowledges past criticism regarding user safety, especially for younger players, and aims to foster a more secure online environment through these upcoming changes.
