Remembering Roy Nierenberg, founder of Berkeley software company

Roy Nierenberg, who passed away on January 24, was a bright and kind-hearted individual known for his positive outlook and inquisitive nature. A graduate of Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, and George Washington University, he spent a decade as a federal lawyer before founding Experience In Software in Berkeley in 1983. Deeply involved in community activities, he sang in the local chorus and supported Huntington's disease initiatives. Roy is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings. A memorial service will honor his legacy on February 2.
Roy Nierenberg was known for his kindness, a genuine interest in everyone he met, deep curiosity and an irrepressibly positive attitude toward the world.
Roy worked as a lawyer for the federal government in Washington D.C. for 10 years, including positions with the White House Council on Wage and Price Stability.
In 1983 he founded Experience In Software in Berkeley to develop interactive project management software, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit.
The memorial service for Roy Nierenberg will be held on Feb. 2, a day for family and friends to honor his lasting impact.
