The tragic incident occurred at around 4:43 am, resulting in the death of a pedestrian and the closure of all northbound lanes on Highway 101 for several hours.
Witnesses reported the body lying in the far left lane, leading to significant delays in morning commutes as traffic was diverted off the freeway.
A Sig alert issued at 5:15 am prompted the California Highway Patrol to divert traffic, causing a substantial backup as only the far right lane remained open.
As of now, neither the identity of the victim nor the circumstances leading to their presence on the freeway have been disclosed.
