Better Homes Enfield campaigner Matt Burn highlighted that permitted development conversions of office blocks result in poor-quality housing, lacking affordability and amenity space.
The Grange N14 noted that while five floors of the office will be converted into flats, the ground floor will remain dedicated to office use.
Burn expressed concerns over the quality of the flats, stating that some will have non-openable windows and will rely on internal ventilation, raising issues of overheating.
Despite the substantial number of new flats being delivered, none will meet the classification of affordable housing, indicating a gap in addressing housing needs.
