SUNSET PARK - INDUSTRY CITY is set to host the Food Network Wine & Food Festival for the first time this weekend, featuring 500 chefs and expected to attract 50,000 attendees over four days. Local businesses and industry stars like Bobby Flay and Rachel Ray will mingle, host and collaborate to offer panels, tastings, meals and free samples at 80 events across Brooklyn and Manhattan, culminating in the annual Grand Tasting on Sunday at the Brooklyn Army Terminal.
Proceeds from the event benefit the nonprofit God's Love We Deliver, which provides nutritious meals for New Yorkers suffering from serious illnesses. The group was founded in 1985 in response to the AIDS crisis, and has expanded to support hundreds of critical diagnoses, serving nearly 15,000 people over 4 million free meals last year.
Celebrity guest appearances are set to include Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Kylie Jenner and others. Tickets for various events in the festival are for sale online on the NYCWFF'S website, as is a full schedule and more information.
