A fire erupted at a garden shed on Edmund Road in Mitcham early on December 2, resulting in significant destruction of nearby flats, including one ground-floor flat.
Fire crews responded quickly with four fire engines and approximately 25 firefighters, managing to contain and extinguish the fire by 10:03 am after it started at 8:36 am.
The blaze originated from a lean-to shed utilized as a bike workshop, which was completely obliterated, alongside damage to surrounding structures and the roof.
Currently, investigators are looking into the cause of the fire, which has raised safety concerns among residents about the potential for such incidents.
