Marko Spinks, a nearby resident, expressed concern over Conifer House's deteriorating condition, stating, "It's a shame because it could be a beautiful block of flats if someone were to put money in it."
A spokesperson from the London Fire Brigade detailed the extent of the damage from the fire, explaining, "The fire likely originated from a firework and completely destroyed the roof and second floor of the building."
Another resident recounted the dramatic scene during the fire: "They couldn't gain access, so they had to close this road and they had the biggest cherry picker that you have ever seen in the world."
Bromley Council's planning department rejected the owner's proposal, declaring it, "an inappropriate overdevelopment of the site that would detract from the character and appearance of the area."
