The proposal for 8-12 Bromley Road aims to create two new flats, enhancing residential capacity in Beckenham’s Conservation Area while preserving community aesthetics.

A busy road in Beckenham has been cordoned off by police due to a crash reported around 9pm today, impacting local bus routes.

Councillor Alexa Michael, chairman of the Development Control Committee, stated, "We were persuaded by the very special circumstances in support of this relatively modest proposal, which is also in keeping with principles established in previous planning decisions."

Forster Road in Beckenham will be closed to through traffic on Sunday, May 4, 2025, for the VE Day 80th Anniversary Celebration, from 10am to 10pm.

"The equipment is old and parts of it are unsafe. Older kids don't have anywhere to play. But with the right support, we can change that."

According to data, Beckenham had the highest rate of car thefts in the borough last year, with 19 stolen cars which had the equivalent car theft rate of 505 per 100,000 cars.
