On Monday, Facebook and Instagram both faced significant outages, with users reporting over 8,000 issues for Facebook and more than 4,000 for Instagram by early afternoon.
According to Downdetector, a service that tracks outages through user-submitted reports, the actual impact could be larger than the reported incidents.
Earlier this year, both platforms experienced a global outage lasting over two hours, affecting hundreds of thousands of users due to a technical issue.
The peak of that earlier outage saw over 550,000 disruptions reported for Facebook and approximately 92,000 for Instagram, showcasing the scale of the issues.
