Meta's NIL Empower Program partners with female student-athletes to enhance their social media influence and brand identity. Launched in 2021, this initiative provides athletes with tools and resources to create engaging content across various platforms. Participants benefit not only from content creation skills but also from networking among peers in diverse sports. The program has demonstrated success, evidenced by the substantial fan engagement metrics and the emergence of student-athletes developing their personal content franchises. Following a positive fall cohort, 50 athletes generated significant online traction with minimal posts.
Social media isn't new, but athletes and collectives are finding innovative ways to revolutionize player name, image, and likeness (NIL) across multiple platforms.
Meta's recent press release included that 50 athletes in 15 different sports were able to generate over 30 million Reel plays with just 2,500 pieces of content.
