Man killed in Co Donegal after tree fell on car during Storm Eowyn named by gardai
Briefly

Kacper Dudek, aged 20, tragically died in a road incident in Raphoe, Co Donegal, after a tree fell on his car during Storm Éowyn. Emergency services were called at around 5:30 am on Friday, as investigations into the accident commenced with Garda Forensic Collision investigators on-site. Community members and local councillor Patrick McGowan expressed shock and sadness at the event. Power and water outages were reported due to the storm, with Donegal continuing under a weather warning until Saturday morning. The local authority and contractors were also involved in the recovery efforts.
The storm would have just maybe been starting at that stage. It was certainly very unfortunate to not have reached home safely before the storm really kicked in. Everybody is still in shock.
A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to provide support to the family of Mr Dudek. Investigations are ongoing.
