Maison Champion / Thibaut Bertet Architecte
Briefly

This renovation project in Toulon transformed architectural constraints into design opportunities, utilizing innovative solutions to create comfortable living spaces tailored to the family’s needs.
Instead of excavating the lower floor for better height, the architects raised the intermediate floor, creating a new spatial organization that enhanced the home’s functionality.
The design incorporates a bioclimatic approach, with features like a vegetated pergola for summer shading and optimized natural ventilation to ensure year-round comfort.
A single pellet stove is used to heat the home efficiently, complementing thermal mass strategies that capture solar gains and improving overall energy efficiency.
