Limited-run art exhibition, 'Tides at Gowanus Wharf,' brings nabe's industrial heritage to new development * Brooklyn Paper
Briefly

"Tides at Gowanus Wharf" is a curated art exhibition celebrating Gowanus' industrial past while showcasing modern luxury development. Hosted at the Union Channel building, the exhibition features works from five local artists. The area, transformed by rezoning, reflects Gowanus' shift towards high-end living while respecting its historical context. The nine-story building will offer luxury amenities alongside affordable apartments, reinforcing Gowanus's evolving identity. The exhibition connects to the neighborhood's heritage through artworks using local materials, emphasizing the integration of art in redefining urban spaces.
We wanted to lean into the character that we see in Gowanus Wharf's branding, as well as making sure that all of the works reference the neighborhood's industrial character.
Constructed as a result of the rezoning, Union Channel features a modern, angular facade and luxury amenities - a rooftop pool, a gym, and sleek design.
