The Joanópolis House prioritizes a strong connection with its landscape, while accommodating the confined nature of the neighborhood through a unique binuclear design that fosters both connection and intimacy.
The house's design features two distinct cores; one rooted in the ground and semi-buried, and another suspended to maximize natural views, showcasing an innovative approach to utilizing the site’s natural contours.
Stone constructions throughout the site not only manage the landscape's elevation changes but also provide organic shapes that contrast the rigid concrete, enhancing the overall aesthetic and functionality of the house.
Through its design, the house creates an internal courtyard, deliberately turning away from neighboring structures while simultaneously inviting expansive views of the surrounding natural landscape.
