John emphasized how Lordship Park has seen a troubling increase in danger due to relocated traffic from the Stoke Newington low traffic neighbourhood. He stated, "ever since the low traffic neighbourhood was implemented, several issues have arisen; Lordship Park is now a hotspot for accidents and congestion, particularly during peak hours. The roads are meant for residents, not vehicles racing through looking for shortcuts, which has drastically changed the peace we once enjoyed here."
The increasing number of accidents has left John concerned for the safety of his mother, particularly in a residential area filled with elderly residents. He illustrated this concern by explaining, "Crossing the street has become an ordeal for my mother and many other elderly residents. The narrow streets filled with racing cars during rush hour make it almost impossible to navigate safely, creating a very stressful environment in what should be a calm community."
John expressed frustration with the local traffic situation stating, "It's undeniable that while low-traffic measures are well-intentioned, the execution has seriously backfired, displacing traffic rather than alleviating it. The resultant pollution from tailbacks and the danger introduced through traffic jams indicate that not only are we sacrificing safety, but the very health of our community, especially vulnerable populations like the elderly."
