The Burlington Fire and Police Departments responded to a house fire early Sunday morning where they evacuated a resident who later died as a result of his injuries.
'Firefighters battled the fire for about 40 minutes before bringing it under control,' officials said. 'They remained on scene throughout the morning, extinguishing hot spots.'
