Gardaí are investigating whether the suspect reacted angrily after the victim was accused of making inappropriate advances towards a woman, leading to the fatal assault.

A source indicated that a number of people were present during the incident, and it's possible they initially didn't realize the severity of the assault on Mr. Kokenbergs.

Local councillor Paul Gogarty expressed his sympathies, noting that Oldbridge Park is generally a settled area with low levels of anti-social behavior, making the incident unexpected.

The suspect remained at the scene when gardaí arrived and reportedly did not flee, suggesting a level of awareness of the situation at hand.
