Fine Gael confirms it expelled Cllr Patsy O'Brien after finding he sent pornographic material to female Oireachtas staff member

Fine Gael confirmed that it received a complaint against Councillor O'Brien for repeatedly sending unsolicited pornographic material to a female staff member, which caused her significant distress.

The investigation by Fine Gael concluded that Councillor O'Brien's actions violated the party's code of conduct, leading to his suspension and subsequent expulsion from Fine Gael.

Despite the allegations against Councillor O'Brien, Fine Gael has not addressed concerns regarding Government Chief Whip Hildegarde Naughton's involvement in campaigning with him post-complaint.

The former Oireachtas staff member emphasized her desire for privacy, requesting that no media contacts occur that might compromise her identity or personal circumstances.
