Barbara Gray, former assistant chief constable at the PSNI, expressed deep anger and offense at comments attributed to her by a former detective regarding the judiciary.
'The senior officer informed me of the tensions within the legal system and advised me to 'exercise caution' when dealing with solicitors, barristers and members of the judiciary,' Ellis wrote in an email.
Ellis claimed that Gray identified 'perverse decision-making' within the criminal justice process due to the representation of individuals from a Roman Catholic background.
Gray stated she would seek legal advice about the comments made by Darren Ellis, asserting her respect for the judiciary amid the accusations.
