Elon Musk's decision to increase the cost of the X Premium+ subscription by nearly 40% is aimed at optimizing revenue on the platform at a critical time.
Starting December 21, the monthly fee of X Premium+ will rise from $16 to $22 in the U.S., with annual subscriptions surging from $168 to $229.
Subscribers outside of the U.S. will experience even steeper increases, with Canadian prices jumping from $20 to $26, while in Australia, costs rise from $26 to $35.
The increase applies to current as well as new subscribers, with no grandfathered rates; users will be notified of the changes before they take effect.
