"The incident of criminal damage took place on Friday night at the rear of a building on the town's main street. At approximately 10.40pm, Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of eight cars on fire at the car park, according to a Garda spokesperson. No injuries were reported in relation to the incident. The scene has been held for a technical examination to be carried out."

"Any persons who were in the vicinity of Main Street between 10:00pm and 11:15pm on 2nd January and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
