NSW environment minister Penny Sharpe reassured the public that wildlife services are collaborating to rescue the cockatoo named Mickey, who has been living in a supermarket.
Rescue efforts continue as wildlife organisations and Coles staff work together, with the aim to calm Mickey, making him more receptive to being captured and released.
Ravi Wasan pointed out that Mickey is scared due to numerous attempts to catch him, and it will take patience to help him feel at ease again.
Wasan described Mickey as physically fine, stating he has been eating well while in the supermarket, thus emphasizing the importance of a calm rescue strategy.
