The monument ECHO OF THE MOUNTAIN celebrates the memory of all the people who worked in the now-dismissed mining sites of Dossena, highlighting the deep historical connections of the area.
The project features a circular enclosure that not only embraces a large sculpted stone, but also provides a space for community gatherings, merging art with cultural remembrance.
The design, reminiscent of local wooden fences, incorporates a burnt wooden structure that contrasts with the concrete base, symbolizing the relationship between nature and community.
Situated in a former mining area, the monument revitalizes the landscape while honoring the rich heritage of the community established around mining activities since the Bronze Age.
