Delta Is Expanding at This Florida Airport - and Will Add a New Skyclub
Briefly

Tampa International Airport recently announced a significant expansion with a new $1.5 billion Terminal D, featuring at least six Delta Air Lines gates and a new airline lounge. Projected to open in 2028, this state-of-the-art terminal will include 16 gates, a shuttle system, and enhanced shopping and dining options. CEO Joe Lopano emphasized the partnership's potential to elevate the travel experience. This effort aligns with Florida's rapid population growth, aiming to support 37 million travelers yearly, as the state was ranked the fastest-growing in recent census data.
This agreement will bring a world-class airline to what will be a world-class facility for our international and domestic routes. We look forward to continuing the high standards and excellence of both TPA and Delta as we elevate the travel experience for our guests here in Tampa Bay.
The new terminal is projected to open in 2028, and is described as state-of-the-art, and will have a total of sixteen gates.
In addition to the new gates, there will be a new shuttle system, international passenger arrival processing facility, shopping, and dining locations.
