"People thought this was a bizarre one-off crime in the Vallejo case that Muller obviously had mental health issues, but now it looks like he is a serial sexual predator and that has prosecutors going after him vigorously," said legal analyst Steven Clark.
"I think the message is that we don't forget about rape, about murder, about any crime that's committed in this county," said Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen.
"That victim is entitled to restitution. That victim is entitled to confront Mr. Muller for how he changed her life. All of that is key why prosecutors are still going after Muller even while he is behind bars," says Clark.
Muller unlawfully held two men and one woman for ransom back in Spring of 2015, demanding that one of those three withdraw tens of thousands of dollars from their bank account to secure the release of the others.
