A person died early Tuesday following a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on northbound U.S. Highway 101 near the San Francisco Airport.
The collision, which occurred around 4:45 a.m., left a person down in one of the highway lanes, prompting the California Highway Patrol to block all lanes.
Authorities diverted traffic off U.S. 101 onto the South San San Francisco off-ramp and issued a Sig Alert due to severe traffic backups caused by the incident.
While the coroner was dispatched to the site, details on the victim's identity, gender, or age remain undisclosed; the highway's closure duration is also unknown.
