Calipari hears boos early, but Ark. gets last word
Briefly

John Calipari faced a mixed reception during his first return to Rupp Arena, where he formerly coached Kentucky. His new team, Arkansas, upset No. 12 Kentucky 89-79, with former Wildcats Adou Thiero, D.J. Wagner, and Zvonimir Ivisic contributing significantly to the win. Calipari, who previously led Kentucky for 15 years, noted the fearless confidence of his players. Despite hearing boos from fans, there was also some cheering for him as he navigated this challenging return, while Kentucky suffered its second consecutive home loss.
We played with more confidence because we played fearless, and I was coaching them that way. And so proud of them. Good win on the road.
There were definitely more boos at a jam-packed Rupp, but some applause and cheers as well in Calipari's return.
