Thames Water has been working diligently to repair a broken water main in Plumstead High Street since December 31. The repairs are now completed, but the road is not expected to reopen until January 5. During this time, diversions have been implemented for both drivers and bus routes, and residents in the area experienced disruptions in water supply. Thames Water expresses apologies for the inconvenience and assures that public safety is their priority.
The road closure, extending between St Nicholas Road and Kashgar Road, has impacted numerous bus routes including 96, 99, 177, 180, 422, 469, and the N1 night service. A spokesperson for Thames Water urged local commuters and drivers to allow additional time for travel due to ongoing diversions. They expressed their commitment to keeping the public updated through their website and stressed the importance of safety during the repair process.
