Burglars target downtown restaurants - taking a safe in one case
Briefly

"It started at Local 271 on Dec. 23 when several people broke into the restaurant at 271 University Ave. and stole several thousands of dollars in cash," according to police Capt. James Reifschneider. The string of burglaries continued with two more incidents impacting both NOLA and Coupa Cafe within a short timeframe, showcasing a troubling trend for local businesses.
NOLA General Manager Cameron Boos reported that after receiving an early morning call about the break-in, they found that "someone had smashed two doors - the front door and to the manager's office - and the safe was missing," highlighting the severity of the theft.
