Kingsley Kanu, the brother of Nnamdi Kanu, has criticized the UK government for its inaction regarding his brother's extraordinary rendition in Nigeria. Nnamdi, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, was arrested in Kenya and unlawfully transferred to Nigeria, where he faces serious charges. Kingsley expressed dismay over the lack of governmental support and called on UK opposition leader Keir Starmer to advocate for British citizens. Legal battles have shown that Nnamdi's case involves significant human rights concerns, yet the UK government remains passive, disappointing his family and supporters.
They should wake up to defend British citizens. I find it very astonishing. The previous and today's government have not been able to call the Nigerian government to say stop.
Nnamdi was subject to extraordinary rendition, despite the refusal by a number of former foreign secretaries to take such a view. I mean that's very concerning.
